Injury plagued NJFC trekked across to Shelley to play in the cup final. The lads had played 4 games in 5 days and we thought this would be too much!!

Massive praise to the whole squad who found another gear and finally won the cup after 13 attempts. Really proud of you all. Well done lads. Special thank you to Liam Smithy Hall who has been injured but still has come along to support his mates.
- Coline Pow

The game started at 100 mile an hour. Both teams had early chances. The game settled and 3d started to create the most chances twice the ball went fizzing passed the crossbar. Wilson, Pinnock and Gardiner had to be at their best in defence as 3D front two were very quick and were getting a lot of the ball. In midfield Nicholls, Pow and Tankard were having to put a shift in as 3D were very quick to move the ball. NJFC had very little going down the wings as 3D pressed and made Zito and Winfield play more as defenders than wing backs. Holden and Morris up front were getting very little service and when they did had little support as everyone was defending. As the game wore on 3D forward had a great shot from 35 yards hit the cross bar. Northowram did have 2 or 3 half chances but nothing of any note. The half closed with both teams level however 3d had the better of it.

Half Time 0-0

A few forced changes with the impressive Winfield been rested and Howley replaced him and Holden being replaced by Batchelor. The 2nd half was a much better performance with NJFC dominating play. Defence seemed to have fresh legs and were closing down 3D forwards and winning all the ball. The midfield also picked there game up with Tankard and Pow winning all the second balls allowing Nicholls to start pulling the strings. Chances started to come with Zito coming close with a right foot shot. Howley down the left was causing 3d problems twice putting in good crosses only for 3d to scramble the ball away. At the other end 3d striker had a good shot saved well by Hiley in goals. 3d had a few corners and all were dealt with well. NJFC for the last 20 minutes put 3d to the sword with Morris going close and what looked like a certain goal by Nicholls ended up being headed of the line. With 2 minutes to go and extra time looming Nicholls sent a ball down the left wing Howley then crossed the ball which was cleared straight to Morris who lobbed the keeper to win the game for NJFC. Mass celebrations by parents and players as this nail biting game had been ended in the dying minutes.

Final score NJFC 1 - 3D Dynamos 0
