You may or may not be aware that following the merger of Northowram Fields CC and Northowram Junior Football Club, jointly known as Northowram Community Sports & Activity Club, or NCSAC for short, a project team has been working hard in order to move forward with plans for a joint new clubhouse on the site of the old cricket club pavilion.
We have made huge strides forward and have raised a huge amount of money already to cover costs for planning approval, building regs etc. Planning was granted some time ago and since then we have been busy working with Calderdale council and others to obtain funding for the build costs of £475,000, not an easy task! However, recently we received some fantastic news that Sport England were keen to back our project from their prestigious “Sustainable Facilities Fund” for the amount of £175,000, we are 1 of only 7 projects in the UK who have received a backing offer from this fund. In order to use this offer we need to have spent the funds by 31st of March 2010, we believe it is possible to achieve our goal within this timescale but need everyone’s help, however large or small to deliver what will be a fantastic facility for our club, community, sport in our village and kids.
With support from the Football Foundation and the English Cricket Board, we believe there is still an amount to raise or obtain through “donations/work in kind” of approximately £50k, it sounds a lot but we’ve already raised an amount well in excess of £200k.
Our request to all members is very simple, CAN YOU HELP? If you can help in any way at all please contact a member of the project team with an expression of interest, they are Paul Winfield, Ann Greenwood, Gary Byrnes, Mark Rich, Steve Hird & Chris Thompson, or simply just email chris@hillsideservices.co.uk . Anyone who can donate time, money, services, materials, labour would be more than welcome to get involved.
